What the daily rate covers, and what it does not
Swiss rental prices are usually quoted before the counter adds anything to them. Here is the whole list for a DRAIV rental, so you can hold it against a quote from anyone else.
In the price you see
- Damage protection with a CHF 5'000 deductible, which you can lower to CHF 2'000 or CHF 200 while booking.
- Swiss VAT and the service fee. The total is shown before you pay, not after you return.
- Free cancellation up to 24 hours before pickup.
- A kilometre allowance stated next to each car. Some cars are unlimited, others carry a daily package.
Charged separately
- Fuel. You bring the car back at the level you took it at. On the electric car in the fleet, charging is included.
- Extra kilometres beyond that car's allowance, from CHF 0.50 each.
- Parking, tolls and any fine you collect while the car is yours.
No deposit. Nothing is held on your card while you drive.

For context, my friend and I have traveled from South Africa and wanted to hire a car to experience the Swiss Alps, after a few days of searching, we realized just how expensive and inconvenient it is to rent from regular car hire services. We stumbled across Drive and were privileged enough to rent a car from Anton who made our experience world class. He was constantly available for contact when we needed him and incredibly helpful when it came to pick up and drop off. The cars quality was absolutely phenomenal and it really took our experience to the next level. I will definitely be back to rent cars through DRAIV, and more specifically, from Anton.

Using a car through DRAIV was easier than we could have hoped for. The car was exactly where it was supposed to be at the expected time. The car was in great condition, and it was super comfortable. I made an error when I failed to account for a time zone change, and the issue was resolved in less than 5 minutes from when I messaged. I had a question while I was using the car, and again, I had an answer in minutes. After this experience, I can’t imagine ever renting from anywhere else. Thank you, DRAIV!
